The HRACA Social Committee is excited to announce our scheduled events for 2024. Many events like Day in The Park, Oktoberfest, and International Dinner are long-standing neighborhood traditions, while others, like the Pride Block Party, have quickly become annual traditions in our HRA community! We have even added new events like a Community Kickball Game this year!

Where: Luria Park What to Expert: Eggs with treats be "hidden" around Luria Park. Under 3 will be at the playground structure and 4+ will be in the middle of the Luria park field and around the rest of the park. Rumor has it the Easter Bunny might also join us. One of our 70th anniversary events this year has been a monthly storytelling hour for children, held in Luria Park. Children’s book authors have come and read books, talked about writing them and had a hands-on craft project also.
Our last author of the season will be Courtney Pippin-Mathur. She grew up in Texas and drew and doodled throughout her school years. In college, after an Art History class, she decided on art as a career and after moving to the east coast has pursued the writing and illustrating of children’s books. Among her books are “Maya was Grumpy’ and ‘Dragons Rule, Princesses Drool’. Come so the children can listen to a story or two, and maybe do some doodles too. Thanks to everyone for coming out to celebrate the 70th Anniversary of HRA! View all the great photos on our Calendar of Events page! The Civic Association hosted a party at the HRA Pool on Sept 17th, open to all residents. Over 200 neighbors and friends came out, including original settlers and newcomers of less than 12 hours. Honestly, it was pretty magical. The highlight was the HRA Mixtape featuring live performances from our resident musicians. Please give them some love by attending an upcoming show, following them on social media, streaming their tracks on loop on Spotify, etc: HRA’s Plant Native Trees Initiative is here!
